Esperance Marie Lee Serigny, 86, a native of Golden Meadow, La., and a resident of Galliano, La., died at 6:12 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23, 2011.

Mrs. Serigny was known for her caring nature, generosity and her dedication to her religion. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Golden Meadow.


She is survived by her brother, Patterson Lee; sisters, Josephine Lee, Bridgette Holcomb and Juline Serigny; adopted family, Laura Pitre, Sandy St. Pierre, Julie Cheramie and Chauncey Sr., Yvonne, and Corey Serigny Sr.; 13 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Olivier Serigny Jr.; parents, Joseph Sr. and Theresa Lee; brothers, Joseph Jr., Harris Sr. and Anderson Lee; sisters, Elvina Lee and Marie Mobley; adopted family, Eunice Sr., JoAnn, Eunice Jr., Yvette and Rhoda Serigny; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27 at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church with services to follow. Burial will be at Cheramie Cemetery in Galliano. (Falgout)
