Essie K. Delaune, 73, a native and resident of Cut Off, La. died Saturday, October 20, 2007, at 10:40 a.m.

She is survived by her three sons, Gary, Larry, and Ted Delaune; three daughters, Kay Dupre, Essie Delaune, and Rose Hebert; two brothers, Joseph Kraemer, Sr. and Dean Kraemer; three sisters, Theresa Molaison, Laura Bruce, and Cathy Verdin; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Alton Joseph Delaune, Sr.; her parents, Etienne and Virginia Kraemer; one son, Alton Joseph Delaune, Jr.; two brothers, Winston Kramer and Franklin Kraemer; and two grandchildren.

Essie was a devout Catholic and a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic in Cut Off.

Visitation is Tuesday, October 23, 2007, from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Samart-Mothe Funeral Home in Cut Off and Wednesday, October 24, 2007, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., with the funeral to follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She will be buried in the church cemetery.

Samart-Mothe Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
