Estelle “Mama” Landry, 83, a native and resident of Paincourtville, La., died at Baton Rouge General Medical Center, Sunday, September 14.


She is survived by three sons, Eddie Landry and wife Lois, Ernest Landry and wife Mary Ellen, and Albert Landry and wife Dianna; one daughter, Gloria L. Riley; five brothers, the Revs. George, Levy and Ernest Jones, and Edward and Israel Jones; three sisters, Mildred Irvin, Alberta Ross and Christine Jones; one daughter-in-law, Sonya Landry; two sons-in-law, O.R. Patterson and Walter Riley Sr.; 15 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and relatives.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Landry Sr.; her parents, Dave and Ethel Landry; one son, Alfred Landry; one stepdaughter, Josephine Patterson; one brother; and sisters.

She was a homemaker.

Visitation will be 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday, September 19, at Williams and Southall Funeral Home in Napoleonville, La., and 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, September 20, at Virginia Baptist Church in Ewellville, La., with a religious service to follow. She will be buried at the church cemetery.

Williams and Southall Funeral Home of Napoleonville is in charge of the arrangements.
