Ethel Hawthorne Watkins, 61, a native of Terrebonne Parish, La., and resident of Thibodaux, La., died Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2011.
Mrs. Watkins was a Licensed Practical Nurse.
She is survived by her husband, Clarence Watkins; mother, Thelma Hawthorne; sons, Edison and Charles Watkins; daughter, Darlene Watkins; brothers, Royal, Terry, Jerome, Elton and Ronald Hawthorne and Elton Sneeze; sisters, Connie Roberson, Elise Thomas, Joyce Kimber and Annette Valentine; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, William Hawthorne; daughter, Deon Watkins; brothers, Cortney Allen and Donald, Leonard and Barnard Hawthorne; and sister, Joyce Hawthorne.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8 at Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church in Gibson, La., with services to follow. Burial will be at New St. Paul Cemetery on Hwy 311. (Community)
