Ethel Marie Stansbury May 20, 1929-August 28, 2010 "To know her was to love her" Ethel Stansbury, 81, was a lifetime resident of Morgan City and a one-of a-kind lady who was very outgoing and always found the positive side of life. Ethel was loved by all and will be sadly missed by all those that knew her. Ethel enjoyed every moment of her life. She was a kind and gentle hearted lady who lived every day with a smile that could lighten any room. She loved her family and enjoyed every moment they spent together. Ethel was the foundation and support of her entire family. She was a wonderful wife, a devoted mother, grandmother, and a great friend. Ethel was a faithful member of Holy Cross Catholic Church. She absolutely loved bus trips with the AARP, gathering with her friends for a friendly game of cards, and visiting extended family. She was a marvelous cook, who could make the ordinary extraordinary. Ethel Marie Stansbury


Ethel Stansbury, 81, a native and resident of Morgan City, La., died Saturday, Aug. 28, 2010.

Ms. Stansbury was a faithful member of Holy Cross Catholic Church. She loved bus trips with the AARP, gathering with her friends for a game of cards, and visiting extended family.


She is survived by daughters, Linda (Jack) Rankin and Rhonda (Clarence) Bergeron; brother, John Beadle; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 31, and 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 1, at Hargrave Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Cross Catholic Church followed by burial at Morgan City Cemetery.
