Eugene “Gene” Joseph Babin Sr., 69, a native and resident of Houma, La., died Thursday, Feb. 28, at 6:04 p.m.
He is survived by his wife, Jewell Levron Babin of Houma; sons, Eugene Babin Jr. of Houma and Brian Babin and wife, Jeannie, of Gray, La.; grandchildren, Brad Babin and friend, Hope, Lenee Babin and Breanna Babin; step-grandson, Brandon Naquin and wife, Jessica; step-great-grandchild, Isabella Naquin; close friend, Beckie LeBoeuf; and his dog, Tiger.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert and Mary Ellen Ledet Babin; and his brother, Dudley Babin.
He was a retired pumper/specialist for Texaco and a famous musician who loved hunting, fishing and his family. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a parishioner of St. Louis Catholic Church.
Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Monday, March 03, at Chauvin Funeral Home and 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 4, at St. Louis Catholic Church with mass to follow. He will be buried at the church cemetery.
Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
