Eunice “Mae” Forbes, a native of Labadieville, La., and a resident of Hahnville, La., died at University Hospital in New Orleans, La., Friday, November 7.


She is survived by two daughters, Desiree Forbes of Hahnville, and Ophelia Washington and husband Paul of Thibodaux, La.; one stepson, Clyde Smith of New Orleans; one stepdaughter, Jeoslyn Thomas of New Orleans; one sister, Ethel Meads of Labadieville; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous relatives.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Smith Sr.; one son, Eugene Johnson Jr.; two sisters, Lillian Turner and Helen Brundy; and one brother, Lester Pollard Sr.

She was a retired central service worker at Charity Hospital in New Orleans.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, November 15, at St. Mark Baptist Church in Labadieville. A religious service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with burial at the church cemetery.

Williams and Southall Funeral Home of Napoleonville, La., is in charge of the arrangements.
