Ezar Delphine Marie Smith Lafont, 89, a native and resident of Galliano, La., died Friday, June 27, at 10:43 a.m.


She is survived by her daughters, Judy and husband Ray LeBlanc, and Mrs. June Lafont; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Euclid Joseph (Ken) Lafont; parents, Washington and Lucy Kief Smith; daughter, Carol Pitre; sons-in-law, Donald Pitre and Mark Terrebonne; give brothers; and six sisters.

She served her country in American Legion Post 315 and her church as a member of the Ladies Altar Society. She also taught catechism and served her children’s schools as a member of the PTA. She was loved by her neighbors, church members and her loving family. She will be sadly missed.

Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. to funeral time Tuesday, July 1, at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church. The funeral will follow at 11 a.m. She will be buried at Cheramie Mausoleum.
