Felton Clarence Smothers, 80, a native and resident of Napoleonville, LA., died Sunday, March 18, 2007.


Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Friday, March 23, 2007 at Wesley United Methodist Church in Napoleonville. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Friday, March 23, 2007 at the church, with burial in Woodlawn United Methodist Church Cemetery.


He is survived by one son, Aneil Smothers and wife, Avis; three brother-in-laws, Fred Turner, Benny Harris and Elfred Harris; four sister-in-laws, Rachel Turner, Rose, Delois and Edna Harris; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Verdelle Harris Smothers; his parents, Clarence and Iceola Smothers; and one son, Corinth Smothers.

He was a member of Mt. Moriah Lodge No. 17 F & AM and Norman D. Jones Consistory.

He was a World War II Army veteran and was a retired school teacher for Assumption Parish, LA. after 33 years.

Landry’s Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
