Florett “Flo” Johnson, 80, a native of Plattenville, La., and a resident of Donaldsonville, La., died Sunday, July 26.

She is survived by five daughters and spouses, Carol Griffin, Sharon and Gerald Nicholas, Gail and Allen Harris, all of Donaldsonville, Ethel and Derrick Cox of Gonzales, La., and Deannie and Edward Sidney, of Port Arthur, Texas; four sons and spouses, Wade and Linda Hudson of Baton Rouge, La., Larry and Melissa Hudson of Dallas, Texas, Darrell Hudson of Port Arthur, and Charles Jr. and Cynthia Hudson of Geismar, La.; two brothers, Roosevelt and Steve Harris, of Detroit, Mich.; 20 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.


She was preceded in death by her parents and stepfather, Jack James and Beulah, and Roosevelt Harris Sr.; husband, Charley Johnson; one daughter; one sister, Annie Mae Harris; and two brothers, Nelson and Henry Harris.

Visitation will be 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 30, at Williams and Southall Funeral Home in Donaldsonville, and 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday, July 31, at Mount Triumph Baptist Church. A religious service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the church with burial at the church cemetery.

Williams and Southall Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
