Forrest “Sonny” Pennison, 79, a native of Lockport, La., and a resident of Houma, La., died Wednesday, June 17, at 1:57 p.m.


He is survived by his wife, Hilda Parks Pennison; sons, Kevin Pennison, Barry Pennison and wife Lori, Craig Pennison, and Blaine Pennison of Houma; daughters, Cynthia “Cyndi” Tyler and husband Calvin of Lockport, Holly Breaux and husband Neil of Houma, and Joni DeFelice and husband Terry of Anoka, Minn.; brother, Harry Pennison and wife Annie Rose of Lockport; sisters, Ann Cortez of Kraemer, La., and Betty Fabiano and husband Jessie of Thibodaux, La.,; grandchildren, Raynell Littleton, Hope Theriot and husband Curt, Michael Pennison and wife Chantelle, Amber DeFelice, Dylan Pennison, Maranda Parfait and husband Dustin, Haley Pennison, Brittany Pennison, Hunter Lynn Pennison, Chase Breaux and Bradley; and great-grandchildren, Trey Louviere, Makenzie Parfait, Carmine Parfait, Damien Pennison and Trinity Dean.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Ann Savoie Pennison.

He was a veteran of the Korean War and a lifetime member of the American Legion Henry Robertson Post #83. He was also the past State Commander of American Legion Member Voiture 1038.

Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, June 19, and 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 20, at Falgout Funeral Home in Houma. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Annunziata Catholic Church in Houma with burial to follow at Holy Rosary Cemetery in Houma.

Falgout Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
