Francis “Bozo” Naquin Sr., 91, a native and resident of Thibodaux, La., died peacefully at home with his loving family by his side Monday, March 2.


He is survived by his children, Shirlene Naquin Robichaux and Richard “Dickie” Naquin and wife Vickie; daughter-in-law, Ann Mire Naquin; sister, Ellane Naquin Vicknair; grandchildren, Monica Naquin Bergeron and husband Toby, Nikki Naquin Andras and husband Donald, Frances Naquin Russell and husband Gordon, Brandon Naquin and wife Marie, Angelle Robichaux Delaune and husband Michael, Michelle Robichaux Dufor, Sterling “James” Robichaux, Richard “Richie” Naquin and Dru Naquin Pierce and husband Rod; great-grandchildren, Makayla Russell, Quin Bergeron, Darrell Andras, Benjamin Denham, Nicholas Denham, Alyce Delaune and Austin Delaune; step-great-grandchildren, Johnathan Delaune, Sloan Pierce, Elijah Pierce and Kaylen Chiasson; and step-great-great-grandchild, Kohen Chiasson.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Oncale Naquin; son, Francis “Cody” Naquin; parents, Davis and Pauline Legendre Naquin; and siblings, Hazel Naquin Arceneaux, Rita Naquin, Sister Mary Lucy, O Carm, Pauline Naquin Bourgeois, Audrey Naquin, Gibbons Naquin, Aubrey Naquin, Lionel Naquin, and Jack Naquin.


He worked in a family owned business, “People’s Hardware” as a plumber until it’s closure. He also worked at his beloved Nicholls State University in the maintenance department until his retirement. He was the oldest living fireman in Thibodaux’s fire department and was a valued member of Fire Company No. 1 since 1936. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

The family would like to thank Dr. Francis Robichaux, Dr. Sandeep Patel, Thibodaux Regional Medical Center, CIS, STAT Home Health and St. Joseph Hospice for extraordinary care given.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, March 3, at Thibodaux Funeral Home and 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 4, at St. Genevieve Catholic Church. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church with burial at St. Joseph Cemetery.

Thibodaux Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
