Gary P. Babin, 58, a resident and native of Raceland, La., died at 8:20 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2006.


Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until noon Saturday, October 28, 2006 at St. Hilary of Poitiers Catholic Church in Mathews, La. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held.

Mr. Babin is survived by his wife Deanie M. Babin; three sons, Chris Babin and wife Jenny, Tim Babin and wife Shelly, and Tommy Gaudet and wife Jessica; two daughters, Becky Guidry and husband Scott, and Ann Shelly and husband Joe; two brothers, Eugene Babin Jr. and Gerald Babin; five sisters, Margarite Orgeron, Doris Breaux, Marion Labat, Carmella Lusco, and Bonnie Daigle; and 12 grandchildren, Jade Caillouet, Jenna- Nicole Guidry, Skyler Babin, Aubrie, Evan, and Courtney Babin, Karlee McKee, Benton Gaudet, Joshua, Michelle, Matt, and Lauren Shelly.


He was preceeded in death by his parents, Eugene and Earline Knight Babin, and one son, Nick Gaudet.

Mr. Babin was a parisioner of St. Hilary of Poitiers Catholic Church in Mathews, La.

He retired six months ago; prior to that he was employed by Oxy Chemicals for 38 years. He was the current president of the Houma airbase Beagle Club.

Falgout Funeral Homes, Inc., of Raceland is in charge of the arrangements.
