Geavonta “G” Raeshawn Steele, 16, a native of Terrebonne Parish, La., and a resident of Houma, La., died Tuesday, January 13.
He is survived by his mother, Crystal Steele-Sneeze; father, Shedrick Lee Williams Sr.; brothers, Shedrick Lee Williams Jr. of Houma and Floyd Bradford of Boutte, La., and sisters, Danyell Plant and husband Melvin, Sha’Kari Steele, Shan’Tara Steele and Jakia Steele all of Houma.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, James Williams Sr., Kitty Williams and Calvin Steele Sr.
He was a Baptist and a member of First Baptist Church were he served as Jr. Deacon’s Vice President and Jr. Choir Member. He was a student at Houma Jr. High School and he was on the football team. He also worked as an official with the Terrebonne Parish Recreation Department. He enjoyed football, track, weight lifting, video games and computers.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, January 19, at Community Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 20, at First Baptist Church in Schriever, La., with burial at the church cemetery.
Community Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
