Gene Michael Andre’, 62, a native of New Orleans, La., and a resident of Houma, La., died at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 25, 2010.


Mr. Andre’ was a parishioner of St. Bernadette Soubirous Catholic Church. He served on the finance council, RCIA, the choir and numerous church planning committees. A Nicholls State University graduate, he was employed by NAPA Auto Parts for 40 years and Sherwin Williams Auto Paints for the last four years of his life.

He is survived by his wife, Diana Bordelon Plaisance Andre’; son, Lee (Liz) Andre’; daughter, Dr. Michelle M. Andre’; stepsons, Peter and Tim Plaisance; stepdaughter, Susan (Ted) Eschete; five grandchildren, Landon and Lauren Andre’, Elizabeth and Allen Eschete, and Maria Smith; brothers, Gerald (Barbara), Arthur III and Chris Andre’; sister, Jeanine (Rodney) Simoneaux.


He is preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Myrle Hamner Andre’; parents, Arthur Jr. and Jeanne Boudreaux Andre’.

Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday, March 1, at St. Bernadette Soubirous Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 11 a.m. at the church.

He will be buried at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.
