Geneva “Neva” Frances Schouest Marcel, 66, a native and resident of Bourg, La., died Friday, April 3, at 6:15 p.m.


She is survived by her sons, Scott Marcel of Houma, La., and Timothy Marcel of Houma; daughter, Tonia Falgout and husband Lloyd Falgout Jr. of Bourg; brother, Numa Schouest and wife Linda of Bourg; sisters, Patricia Hunter and husband Roy of Marrero, La., Clarice LeBlanc of Bourg, Shara Ramsier and husband Dean of Bourg, Melanie Davis and husband Marc of Houma, and Wanda Legendre of Lockport, La.; grandchildren, Keith Falgout, Joshua Falgout and Gauge Marcel; and former husband, Kurt Marcel of Houma.


She was preceded in death by her parents, Fortuna “Fotch” Schouest and Odette Rogers Schouest; brothers, Gregory Shouest and Van Schouest; and sisters, Janice Daspit, Brenda Bateman , Faye Schouest and Jody Schouest.

She loved her family, playing cards, loved the New Orleans Saints and LSU Tigers and going to the casino. She was a parishioner of St. Ann Catholic Church.

Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday, April 6, at St. Ann Catholic Church with burial at St. Ann Cemetery

Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
