George Leslie Broussard Jr., 72, a native and resident of Houma, LA., died at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, January 27, 2007.

Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. to funeral time Wednesday at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.


He is survived by five brothers, Peter Broussard and wife, Carol “Boo,” Michael Broussard and wife, Chris, of Houma, Richard Broussard and wife, Osie, of Thibodaux, LA., David Broussard of New Orleans, LA. and John Broussard and wife, Lenda, of Baton Rouge, LA.; one sister, Margaret Faye “Sissy” Freeman and husband, Ronnie, of Houma; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, former Houma Mayor G. Leslie Broussard and wife, Mae Bourgeois; and his grandparents, former Terrebonne Sheriff Peter G. Bourgeois and Elizida “Lizzie” Barrilleaux Bourgeois and George Wilfred and Lena Marson Broussard.

He was a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Cathedral. He was a former priest and co-owner of Broussard Kitchens Inc.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association and American Cancer Society.
