Bishop George Joseph Elias, 86, a native of Centerville, La., and resident of Baton Rouge, La., died Saturday, April 7, 2012.
Mr. Elias was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He was a member of the VFW Post 10701.
He is survived by his daughters, Pamela (Darryl) Daigle, Constance Van Horn and Sandra (Joe) Brinegar; son, Cory Elias; brother, Albert; sisters, Sally and Jo Ann; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Elias; father, Abdullah Elias; mother, Katie Grundon; and sisters, Rosanna, Mary Belle and Edna Mae.
Burial was at the Church of God of Prophecy in Belle River, La. (Hargrave)
