Georgia Pitre Blanchard, 80, a native and resident of Houma, Louisiana, died at 3 p.m. July 6, 2014.
Mrs. Blanchard was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and American Legion Auxiliary, and a past member of the Terrebonne Fine Arts Guild. She enjoyed painting, sewing, crocheting, singing and playing music.
She is survived by her son, William Troy (Teresa) Blanchard; daughter, Gwendolyn Ann Blanchard; sisters, Arabella Thomala, Wilma LeBoeuf and Geraldine Muller; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Joseph Blanchard; parents, Lawrence and Ollie Marcell Pitre; grandson, Stacy Gentry; brother, Earl Muller; and sisters, Rita Vitrano and Daisy LeBoeuf.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., Friday, July 11, at Chauvin Funeral Home, and from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, July 12, at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow.
Burial is at Terrebonne Memorial Park.
