Gerald Abel Cantrelle, 73, a native of Raceland, La., and resident of Houma, La., died Wednesday, June 15, 2011.
Mr. Cantrelle was a retired crane operator and a parishioner of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church. “He won’t be able to make us laugh anymore but he will have the angels in stitches.”
He is survived by his wife, Sherry Cantrelle; sons, Gerald (Sandra) and William Cantrelle, Shane (Lori) and James (Erin) Bellanger; daughters, Joana (Scott) Buell and Chantel (Tige) Danos; brother, Stanley Cantrelle; sister, Janice Windham; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Abel and Effie Cantrelle Martin; brother, Carol Cantrelle Sr.; and sister, Joyce Marcel.
The family would like to thank Terrebonne General CCU and staff and also a very special thanks to Dr. Jules Dupont and staff for their many years of care and compassion.
Burial was at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Cemetery. (Chauvin)
