December 28, 2010Gerald Henry Sanders Sr., 89, a native of New Orleans, La., and resident of Houma, La., died at 1:29 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2010.
Mr. Sanders was the owner of Reliable Service Inc. of Houma and a parishioner of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife, Della Griffin Scales Sanders; sons, Steven (Pamela), Gerald Jr. (Gene Ellen) and Glen (Nancy) Sanders, and Patrick Scales; daughters, Joy Chaisson, Judy (Keith) Martin, Brigitte (Ronald) Crespo and Patricia Scales; sisters, Rosemary (Phillip) Facquet and Carmen “Cookie” Barrere; 14 grandchildren, Merton Jr., Stephanie and Mark Chaisson, Gerald III, James, Andrew, Adam and Ryan Sanders, Thomas Crochet III, Nicole Vidal, Brett Babin, Bradley Tabor, Anthony Voisin and Brianna Scales; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Maude Charpentier; parents, Jerald Henry and Elizabeth Lannes Sanders; two brothers, Raymond and Francis “Weedie” Sanders; and one grandchild, Mark Quick Jr.
He is buried at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
