Geraldine Foret Matranga, 72, a native and resident of Raceland, La., died Saturday, October 11, at 1:08 a.m.
She is survived by her sons, Leo Matranga and wife Penny, Corey Matranga and wife Elaine, Peter Matranga and wife Linda and Mark Matranga and wife Andrea; daughter, Colette Matranga and companion Mark Folse; brother, Dennis Foret; sister, Joyce Foret Rabalais; grandchildren, Jeb Matranga, Carley Matranga, Cassie Matranga and Nicholas Matranga; and step-grandchildren, Billy Jo Brown, Roy Falgout, Jordy Falgout and Andre Dufrene.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis Pierre Foret and Ophelia Lawson Foret.
She enjoyed knitting and crochet and was a parishioner of St. Mary’s Nativity Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made for masses.
Visitation will be 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, October 13, at Samart-Mothe Funeral Home in Raceland. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 15, at St. Mary’s Nativity Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery.
Samart-Mothe Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
