Gerard Simpson Young, 42, a native of Shreveport, La., and resident of Houma, La., died Monday, July 16, 2007, at 11:06 a.m.

He is survived by his devoted companion, Irma Williams; his mother, Gloria Young; one son, Gerard Mosely; one daughter, Erika Mosely; four brothers, Roy, Mark, Lawrence, and Todd Young; one sister, Gisele Randall; and three grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by his father, Roy Young; his maternal grandparents, Lawrence Collins and Bertha Chocolate Robinson; and his paternal grandparents, Roy and Ivy “Aya” Young.

Gerard was a devout Methodist, who loved to fish and visit with family and friends. He was a pipe inspector.

Visitation is Thursday, July 26, 2007, from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., with the funeral Friday, July 27, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. He will be buried at Lincoln Memorial Cemetery in Shreveport.

Community Funeral Home of Houma is in charge of the arrangements.
