Gertrude Frances Norris, 69, a native of Brewton, Ala., and resident of Thibodaux, La., died Sunday, Nov. 10, 2013.


Mrs. Norris was an extraordinary and colorful woman who enjoyed her time traveling, fishing, antiquing and gardening. She had a passion for food of all different types and a great love of nature and the outdoors. She loved her children and grandchildren tremendously.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, James Norris; children, Dr. Rollie and Zachary (Melanie) Norris, Trudy (James) Baldwin and April (Tommy) Boudreaux; sisters, June Gafford, Carolyn Barton and Gayle Brown; brother, Arthur (Clara) Billingsley; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her biological parents, William and Trudie Brown; adoptive parents, Ira and Alice Billingsley; and sister, Jerrie Self.


Burial is at St. Lawrence Catholic Church Cemetery in Chacahoula, La. (Thibodaux)
