Gertrude Marie Walker, 98, a native of Grand Caillou, La., and resident of Houma, La., died Sunday, July 4, 2010.


Mrs. Walker was a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Cathedral.

She is survived by her daughters, Evelyn (Don) Chauvin and Gail Walker Robichaux; sons, Wayne and Richard (Brenda) Walker; sisters, Elsie Hebert and Lorraine Bunch; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence J. Walker; parents, Leo and Evelia Luke Giroir; son-in-law, Robie Robichaux; sisters, Hazel Schlaefli, Hilda Leblanc, Ruth Hebert and Ezelle Vice; and brothers, Xavier, Leroy and Roy Giroir.

She is buried at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.
