Gilbert Joseph Plaisance, 81, a native of Larose, La., and a resident of Lockport, La., died Thursday, February 12, at 6:09 a.m.
He is survived by his wife, Elise Plaisance; daughters, Brenda Lapeyrouse and Donna Plaisance; brother, Alvin Plaisance; sisters, Ann Rogers, Vivian Nettles, Uveleda George and Kate Callais; and one grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hector and Eliska Plaisance; and daughter, Patty Plaisance.
He was a parishioner of Holy Savior Catholic Church in Lockport. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was retired from Texaco. He was an avid reader.
Funeral services were Saturday, February 14, at Samart-Mothe Funeral Home in Raceland, La. Burial was at Holy Savior Cemetery.
Samart-Mothe Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
