Sheriff’s ranges give public a new target
March 11, 2010Gillis “Tiger” Verdin, a native of Pointe-aux-Chenes, La., and resident of Grand Bois, La., died Tuesday, March 2, 2010.
He is survived by his son, Louis Roussell; brothers, Wickliff, Lyes and Allen Verdin; sisters, Avelia Dardar, Lorraine Loupe and Mary Verdin; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Marie Verdin; parents, Henry and Genevieve Billiot Verdin; brothers, Ernest, Hadles, Lawrence and Edward Verdin; and sister, Emma Verdin.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday, March 7, and 8 to 11 a.m. Monday, March 8, at Samart Funeral Home of Houma. His funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Verdin will be buried at Rogers Cemetery in Houma.
Samart Funeral Home of Houma is in charge of arrangements.
