Griven M. Bruce, 92, a native of Golden Meadow, La., and a resident of Cut Off, La., died Tuesday, March 25, at 5:50 p.m.
He is survived by his companion, Audrey Bruce; daughter, Genevieve “Jan” Bruce Duet; daughter-in-law, Patty Bruce; brother, Irvin Bruce; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosalie Bouffanie Bruce; parents, Octave and Armise Rousse Bruce; son, Donald Bruce; brothers, Louis and Freddie Bruce; sisters, Armenia Hodge, Louise Duet, Evelyn Autin and Isabella Bruce.
He was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church, and avid fisherman and trapper.
Visitation will be 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 27, at Samart-Mothe Funeral Home in Cut Off with a military service at 9:45 a.m. The funeral will follow at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Galliano, La. He will be buried at Cheramie Cemetery in Galliano.
