Sheriff’s ranges give public a new target
March 11, 2010Gus Broomfield Jr., 68, a native of Schriever, La., and resident of Houma, La., died on Friday, Feb. 26, 2010.
Mr. Broomfield was a member of New Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Jaquette Livas Broomfield; sons, Anthony, Gus III and Kevin Broomfield; daughter, Juanita (Melvin Sr.) Ramsey; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred F. Broomfield; parents, Gus Sr. and Lillie Broomfield; and grandparents, Charley and Ellen Burks, and Charley and Mary Broomfield.
Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, March 6, at First Baptist Church in Schriever. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at the church.
He will be buried at First Baptist Church Cemetery in Schriever.
Community Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
