Gustave “Gus” A. Cheramie, 87, a native of Golden Meadow, La., and resident of Cut Off, La., died Saturday, March 8, 2014.
He is survived by his wife, Rena Cheramie; daughters, Kathy (David) Roundtree and Betsy Cheramie; sons, Carl (Janet) and Tommy (Selena) Cheramie; stepdaughter, Janice Rousse; stepson, Mike Cheramie; six grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and 20 step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Virley Cheramie; son, Dean Cheramie; daughter, Lynn Cheramie; parents, Joseph and Angelina Cheramie; and siblings, Angela Leonard, Elvire Rodrigue, Ella Arceneaux and Cliff Cheramie.
Visitation will be 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 11, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Mass of Christian Burial to follow. Burial will be at the church cemetery. (Falgout)
