Harold G. Clausen Sr., 74, a native and resident of Verdunville, La., died Monday, Feb. 11, 2013.
Mr. Clausen was co-owner and operator of Clausen General Merchandise in Verdunville. In his early years he enjoyed coaching biddy basketball and interacting with the youth and young adults. He served on the St. Mary Parish Council for many years. He was a third degree Knight of Columbus.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Evelyn Clausen; children, Melinda (John) Sanford, Ryan and Harold Jr. (Robin) Clausen, Elizabeth (Chris) Pike, Melanie (Tony) Gray and Monica (Luke) Alphonso; brothers, Everette, Calvin, Wilrod and Donald Clausen; sister, Josephine Wiese; and 13 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ida Clausen; and brother, Louis Clausen.
Burial is at St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery in Centerville, La. (Ibert’s)
