Harold Smith Jr.

Harold T. Smith Jr., 74, a native of Terrebonne Parish, La., and resident of Chauvin, La., died Tuesday, March 29, 2011.

Mr. Smith was a member of Beacon Light Baptist Church.

He was a U.S. Army veteran and a former member of the Terrebonne Parish Planning Commission. He was an accountant for Placid Oil and involved with community growth and development efforts.

He is survived by his wife, Rosezen H. Smith; sons, Nyrere (Angelique), Che and Omar Smith; daughter, Tammy Lyle; sister, Regina (Cordell) Brumfeld; 20 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold Sr. and Mary Smith; brothers, Waymon, Elward and Chester Smith; and grandparents, Chester and Martha Smith, and Wallace and Bertha Thomas.

He is buried at Bisland Cemetery. (Community)
