Harry Paul Crochet, 92, a native of Morgan City, La., and resident of Houma, La., died at 10:15 a.m. Saturday, April 30, 2011.


Mr. Crochet was a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Cathedral. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He worked as a motor tank salesman for Exxon for many years. His hobbies were building purple martin houses and gardening.

He is survived by his son, Donald (Lois) Crochet; daughter-in-law, Mary (Wayne) Doise; one grandson, Alan (Nicole) Crochet; two granddaughters, Kelly (Justin Wutzke) Thames and Lauren (Michael) Tate; two great-granddaughters, Bailey Thames and Riley Tate; and two great-grandsons, Alex Authement and Dylan Tate; and special friend, Mary Duplantis.


He was preceded in death by his wife, Rita Badeaux Crochet; parents, Henry Clay and Melodia Gaspard Crochet; son, David Paul Crochet; sisters, Dorothy Crochet, Lydia (Lloyd) O’Neal, Shirley Smith and Wilma Rhodes; and half-brother, Myer Pisani.

He is buried at Magnolia Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations be made to Heritage Manor Nursing Home, activities department. (Chauvin)
