Harry Lonzo Bonvillian, Sr., 69, a native of Terrebonne Parish and a resident of Grand Caillou, La., died Monday, May 26.

He is survived by his sons, Harry L. Bonvillian, Jr. and wife Charmaine of Houma, La.,


Gregory G. Bonvillian and wife Dr. Jocelyn Freeman-Bonvillian of Baton Rouge, La., and Corey C. Bonvillian and wife Tasha of New Iberia, La.; daughters, Angela L. Lawson and husband Wayne of Baton Rouge, Sherita L. Bonvillian of Grand Caillou and


Andrea B. Lawson and husband Edward of Houma; mother-in-law, Victoria Matthews-Brown; brothers, Willie Bonvillian, Jr. and wife Josephine of Grand Caillou, James Bonvillian, Sr. and wife Joyce of Houma and Paul J. Bonvillian of Houma; sisters, Dorothy Mae Stevenson and husband Kelmer of Houma, Emma Bonvillian of Gray, La., Mary B. Nixon of Houma and Delores B. Johnson and husband Nilo of Grand Caillou; 15 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jacqueline Brown-Bonvillian; daughter, Tammy B. Carvin; parents, Willie Bonvillian, Sr. and Emma “Susie” Bonvillian; brothers, Albert and Earl Bonvillian; sisters, Joyce B. LeBoeuf, Ora Mae B. Norman, Leola B. Torrey and Florence B. Williams; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was a member of Morning Star Baptist Church of Grand Caillou, a U. S. Army Veteran and a retired truck driver.

Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, June 1, and 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday, June 2, at Community Funeral Home with the funeral to follow Monday. He will be buried at New Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.

Community Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
