June 20, 2011Harvey J. Porche Sr., 96, a native of Terrebonne Parish, La., and a resident of Houma, La., died Friday, June 17, 2011.
Mr. Porche was a vegetable farmer.
He is survived by his sons, Harvey Jr. and Gerald Porche; daughter, Beverly Cadiere; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Porche; parents, Julien and Ophelia Porche; brothers, Albert, Morris, David, Herbert and Murphy Porche; and sisters, Vadella Darcey, Nettie LaFarnce and Thelma Burke.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, June 20 and 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 21, at Samart Funeral Home. A religious service will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with burial to follow at St. Louis Cemetery. (Samart)
