Hazel Marie LeBouef Blanchard, 86, a native of Bourg, La., and a resident of Houma, La., died Wednesday, May 6.


She is survived by her husband, Alvin Blanchard; son, Melvin “Mel” Blanchard and wife Donna, and Alvin Blanchard and friend Karen; daughter, Anna Dupre; brother, Werlin LeBouef ; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Albert and Victoria Duplantis LeBouef; sister, Doris LeBouef Neil; brothers, Melvin LeBouef, Alvin LeBouef and Magnus LeBouef; and son-in-law, Nolan Dupre.

She was Catholic and a parishioner of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. She was an honorary member of the United Veterans League.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, May 9, at Chauvin Funeral Home and 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, May 9, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church with burial at the church cemetery.

Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
