Hector Paul “H.P.” Waguespack Jr., 86, a resident of Lockport died following an extended illness, Saturday, July 7, 2007.


He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Magnan Waguespack; two daughters, Dianna Marie Waguespack Hernandez Woody and her husband Allen, Linda Ann Waguespack Bourgeois her husband Chris; two sons, Steven Paul Waguespack and his wife Connie and Michael Joseph Waguespack and his life partner, Joseph Conti; one sister, Heloise Waguespack Cerreto; three grand children, Victor Hernandez and his wife Marisa Capua, Heather Waguespack Richard and her husband Aaron, Jean Louis Waguespack; one step-granddaughter, Jennifer Woody; two great grandchildren, Massimo Paolo Hernandez and Zoe Eve Richard.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hector Paul and Odile Uzee Waguespack, Sr.


Hector was a devout Catholic and a parishioner of Holy Savior Catholic Church in Lockport. He was loving husband for 61 years. He graduated from high school in Lockport and then from Delgado Trade School in New Orleans. He worked as a machinist in the Lockport area until World War II, when he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He served in the Asiatic and Pacific Theater aboard the USS Holland and the USS Sperry, specializing in the repair and maintenance of optics systems and earning the rank of Chief Special Articifer. After the war, he became a watchmaker/jeweler.

He is buried at Holy Savoir Catholic Church Cemetery in Lockport.
