Helen Ann Hebert Martin, 70, a native and resident of Houma, La., died 4:11 p.m. Friday, August 1.


She is survived by her husband of 53 years, J.C. Martin of Houma; two sons, Jody Paul Martin and wife Christy and Jonathan Wendell Martin and wife Ginger of Houma; two daughters, Jill Angela Barnhill and husband Brian and Patti Martin Cordell and husband Don of Houma; one brother, Steve Hebert and wife Helen of Houma; one sister-in-law, Faye Hebert of Houma; seven grandchildren, Lacy Martin, Lauren Martin, Lindsey Martin, Jordyn Martin, Jena Bergeron, Courtney Dyson and husband Tommy, Justin Breaux and wife Britney; and five great-grandchildren, Luke, Camryn and Emily Dyson, Isabella Breaux and Alex Gonzales.


She was preceded in death by her parents, Alidore Hebert and Olivia Lirette Hebert; one brother, Gilbert Hebert; and one sister, Belle Bruce.

She was a homemaker, a member of the Krewe of Hyacinthians, Eastern Star, an avid gardener and a parishioner at Maria Immacolata Catholic Church. She was a great mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Monday, August 4, at Chauvin Funeral Home and 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 5, at Maria Immacolata Catholic Church with mass to follow. She will be buried at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.

Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
