Helen Cheramie Ledet, 80, a native of Galliano, La., and resident of Raceland, La., died Thursday, Dec. 16, 2010.
Mrs. Ledet was a parishioner of St. Mary’s Nativity Catholic Church. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 3665 of Raceland and Raceland Senior Citizen. She was also and avid supporter of St. Mary School and Church. She enjoyed cooking and collecting cookbooks.
She is survived by her husband Gilbert Ledet; son, Jimmy Ledet; daughters, Patricia (Errol) Pitre and Tisa (Myron) Hill; five grandchildren, Lonnie and Chris Pitre, Erica Autin, and Zack and Brodi Hill; two great-grandchildren, Sammie and Aubree Pitre; and sisters, Venice Breaux and Betty Terrebonne.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Levy and Sedonia Ledet Cheramie; four brothers, Ramsey, Volca, Antoine and Harding Cheramie; and three sisters, Elmire Guidry, Hilda Hebert and Irene Melancon.
She is buried at Holy Savior Cemetery.
