Helen M. Williams, 86, a native of Terrebonne Parish, La., and resident of Houma, La., died Wednesday, July 27, 2011.


Mrs. Williams was a retired cook and homemaker. She was a member of New Rising Sun Baptist Church.


She is survived by her husband, Lawyer Williams Sr.; sons, Arthur (Rose) Bishop, Leonard and Raymond (Loretta) Scott and Lawyer Jr., Melvin (Melinda) and Micheal (Paula) Williams; daughters, Anna (IDaniel) Franklin, Patricia Lawson, Enola (Edward) Westley, Duann (Jesse) McKenzie, Bertha (Sherman) Lawson, Laura (Kevin) Coleman and Karen Williams; brothers, Berwick and Welton Madison; sisters, Amanda Carter, Gladys Madison and Susie Felder; 43 grandchildren; 76 great-grandchildren; and 50 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gladys and Frank Madison Sr.; grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Willie Scott Sr.; brothers, Charlie Moses and Jack, Frank Jr., Roosevelt, Jessie and David Madison; and sisters, Ella Parker and Mary Robertson.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 2 at New Rising Sun Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3 at the church with burial to follow at the church cemetery. (Community)
