Helen Mart, 87, a native and resident of Gray, LA., died Monday, April 09, 2007.
Visitation will be from noon until funeral time Saturday, April 14, 2007 at Eagle Wright Baptist Church in Gray. A religious service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Church. Burial will be in the Halfway Cemetery in Gray.
She is survived by three sons, Freddy, Perry and Larry Mart all of Gray; nine daughters, Claudette Nixon, Shirley Frank, Joan Dells Nells, Faith M. Mart and Ernestine Nells of Gray, Lydia Gwin and Angela Mart of Schriever, LA., Mary Jane Jackson of Houma, LA. and Helen Woods of Gibson, LA.; She is also survived by fifty seven grandchildren, one hundred twenty-one great grandchildren and nineteen great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Mart; parents, Rose and James Richard Sr.; three daughters, Caroline Pharr, Alma Brooks and Rose Mary Wallace; three brothers, Freddie Williams, Alex Steward and James Richard Jr.; one sister, Pasty Almeter Davis.
She was a member of Eagle Wright Baptist Church. Her hobbies included shopping and cooking.
Kennedy Funeral Home of Raceland is in charge of arrangements.
