May 27, 2010Helen Maryland Thompson, 87, a native of Terrebonne Parish and resident of Houma, La., died Thursday, May 13, 2010.
Mrs. Thomas was a member of Residence Baptist Church and the J.J. Clement Order of East Star. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by sons, Forrest (Mary), Carl, Marvin (Germaine), Darnel (Diane), Bruce, Frederick and Gerard (Denise) Thompson; daughters, Arnetta (Frank) Hawkins, Dayle (Willie Sr.) Bolden, Gwendolyn (Filmore) Cranshaw, Elaine (John Sr.) Scott, Sandra (Melvin) Peyton and Connie (fiancé Frederick Patterson) Thompson; brother, Joseph Maryland; sister, Dimple M. Commodore; 34 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives.
She is buried at Union Benevolent Cemetery.
