Henry William Péré Jr., 87, a native of New Orleans, La., and resident of Prairieville, La., died on Friday, May 27, 2016.

Mr. Péré was a retired architect inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright. He loved spending time at his hunting camp, woodworking, fishing, crabbing and playing his dulcimer. He also loved the theater, opera and the symphony.


He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Kate Porche Péré; children, Henry (Shari) Péré III, Jeanne (Michael) Dawson, David and Wayne (Stacey) Péré; brothers, Neil (Dorothy) and Dean (Eila) Péré; 11 grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his name to Catholic Charities of Baton Rouge or Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank.

Burial is at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery #2.
