Herman J. LeBlanc, 71, a native and resident of Chauvin, La., died Thursday, July 10, at 9:18 p.m.

He is survived by his wife, Thelma Lirette LeBlanc; son, John LeBlanc; daughters, Cindy Martin and husband Russell Jr., and Michelle LeBlanc and husband Mark Martinez; sisters, Leatrice Adams and husband Michael and Charlotte LeBlanc; and two grandchildren, Adeline Martin and Mackenzie Martin.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Wiltz J. and Bertrande “Margie” Lapeyrouse LeBlanc.

He was on the Board of Directors for the Little Caillou Fire Department and the St. Joseph Parish Council. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 5013. He enjoyed traveling, photography and meeting his friends in the morning. He was a great cook and story teller.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday, July 14, at St. Joseph Church in Chauvin followed by the funeral service. He will be buried at St. Joseph Cemetery.

Samart Funeral Home of Houma, La., is in charge of the arrangements.
