Herman “PA” Stewart Sr., 79, a native of Terrebonne Parish, LA. and resident of Houma, LA., died Sunday, January 21, 2007.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Saturday at Rock of Ages Baptist Church. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with burial in Woodlawn Ranch Cemetery.


He is survived by his wife, Queen B. Stewart of Houma; three sons, Herman Stewart Jr. of Houma, Michael Bingham and wife, Pam, of Little Rock, Ark., and Samuel Bingham and wife, LaKeisha, of Chesterfield, Va.; one daughter, Barbara Washington and husband, Tyrone, of Gibson, LA.; two stepdaughters, Delores Robinson and Gloria Brown and husband, Eric; four sisters, Hazel Butler, Mildred Johnson and husband, Lloyd, Odessa Brumfield and husband, Charles, and Orita Baker, all of Houma; 20 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Cora Smith Stewart; one sister, Hilda LaGarde; one stepsister, Mable Cane; and his grandparents, Albert Stewart Sr. and Ellen Staples Stewart.

He was a retired custodian with Terrebonne Parish School Board and a member of Rock of Ages Baptist Church.

Gertrude Geddes Willis-Terrebonne Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
