Hilda Midgett Brantley, 87, a native of Dare County, N.C., and a resident of Houma, La., died at 2:25 a.m. Thursday, January 1.
She is survived by one daughter, Claudia Leger of Houma; two brothers, Dan Midgett of Pennsylvania and Bill Midgett of Slidell, La.; and one grandchild, Sandra Lowrey.
She was preceded in death by her spouse, Claude W. Brantley; her parents, Creedon Midgett and Lois O’Neal Midgett; one son, Claude “C.W.” Brantley Jr.; and one brother, Lindsay Midgett.
She was a homemaker and parishioner of United Methodist Church
Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday, January 5, at Chauvin Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow. Burial will be at West Lawn Cemetery in Gretna, La.
Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
