Horace Alsay, 87, a native and resident of Paincourtville, La., died Monday, Dec. 12, 2011.


Mr. Alsay was a retired operator at Supreme Sugar Refinery in Napoleonville, La.


He is survived by his wife, Ethel Alsay; daughters, Carmen (Percy) White, Paulette Alsay, Savannah (Charles) Franklin and Paula Skidmore; sister, Matilda Nelsoon; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and James Sr. Alsay; granddaughter, Suzanne Franklin; five sisters; and five brothers.

Visitation will be 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, at Cannan Baptist Church in Plattenville, La., with religious services to follow. Burial will be at the church cemetery. (Williams & Southall)
