Horace “Tib” Authement, 83, a native and resident of Chauvin, La., died Monday, May 27, 2013.
Mr. Authement was a boat captain and barge operator. He was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He loved to cook for his family.
He is survived by his wife, Merle Authement; sons, Cecil (Faye), Adrie (Rose), Jason (Susan) and Faron (April) Authement; sister, Ethel (Lloyd) Lecompte; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Mancy Authement; brothers, Druby, Druis and Adrie Authement; sister, Anna Mae Collins; and one grandchild.
Visitation will be 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Friday, May 31, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Chauvin with Mass of Christian Burial to follow. Burial will be at the church cemetery. (Samart)
