Horace Ivy Sons, 84, a native of Berwick, La., and resident of Patterson, La., died at 11:50 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 11, 2011.
Mr. Sons was a “Jack of all Trades” mastering many professions during his life including, alligator hunter, fur trapper, shrimper, carpenter, musician and offshore supply vessel cook. He loved cooking, sport fishing, hunting, gardening, country music, westerns and working in his shop.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Blanche Sons; sons, David (Janet), Dennis and Darryl (Tammy) Sons; brothers, Justin Jr. (Delores), Mervel (Patsy), Jimmy (Betty) and Barry Sons; sisters, Zelda Fromenthal, Irma Lombas, Shirley (Aaron) Rock, Paulette (Willard) Wilson and Dianne Sons; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Justin Sr. and Lydia Sons; brothers, Ballard Sr. and Lloyd Sons; and sisters, Leola and Myrtleen.
Interment was at St. Joseph Cemetery. (Ibert’s)
