Horace Washington

Horace Washington Sr., 62, a native of Raceland, La., and resident of Houma, La., died Thursday, Dec. 3, 2009.

He is survived by his wife, Annie Washington; sons, Horace Washington Jr., Darrel Smith and Danny Young; daughters, Angela, Bianca and Faith Washington and Jamie (Gillis Jr.) Raymond; sisters, Jeannie Coleman, Beverly (the Rev. Clyde) Thomas, Gladys Dorsey and Agnes (Morris) Charles; brothers, Albert (Verla) Jr., Kennedy (Phyllis), John, Bruce, Samuel and Russell Washington; 22 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Sr. and Rosie Miller Washington; brothers, Melvin Sr. and Phillip Washington Sr.; sister, Joan Rose Sylvester; grandparents, Clarence and Ada Miller and James Sr. and Everlina Washington.

Mr. Washington was Baptist.

He is buried at Morning Star Baptist Church Cemetery in Raceland.
